I'm in way over my head [VENT]

Ive decided to go bankrupt. Because will all our bills and expenses we are in the minuses (thats providing theyre paid on time)

If i was to get a loan from anywhere i couldn't afford to pay it off. With a new baby on the way i need to think realisticly. My credit rating is beyond stuffed, for the next 3-7 years i don't see anything changing much and all the accounts are all in DP's name and so without dragging him down with me it seems like the only way, the sensible option i guess you could say.

:hug: that's a big, hard decision. I'm again sorry you have to face this stress. I guess all I can offer advice wise is to say don't buy a home or any other items of extreme dependance in that time, as it would be under only DP's name, and if you ever split for whatever reason you could lose your home. I hope this decision can bring you some sense of relief.

whilst this is strickly true, realistically she probably wouldn't be able to afford the repayments on her own and as they have been de facto for so long she would still be entitled to either a property settlement or a portion of the profits if it was sold.

Glad you are able to breathe and now have a chance to sort things out and can start again.

There is life after bankruptcy... My Dad was declared bankrupt when I was little. He now owns his own business and a beautiful, huge house.

I have just seen this thread, there is some great advice in here.
I am going thru very similar situations, nearly lost our house numerous times, private numbers calling every day, and like you I did the worst thing and ignored it most of the time. I dread making the calls and put it off which just works out bad and makes things worse.
Your not alone, even though I know it's hard not to feel like you are, I feel like I am all the time. Your dh sounds involved which is good, mine has severe health problems at the moment and money is the least of his worries so it feels like it all falls on me.
